Qur'an Noor

Welcome to Qur'an Noor (قرآن نور — "Light of the Quran"), an Islamic companion application for iPhone. Qur'an Noor is designed to support your spiritual journey through prayer times, Quran reading, Qibla direction, and daily dhikr — all while fully respecting your privacy.

This Privacy Policy describes how the app handles information when you use it. By using Qur'an Noor, you agree to the practices described in this document. If you have any questions, please contact us at the address listed in Section 9.

Qur'an Noor accesses certain information locally on your device to provide its features. This information never leaves your iPhone and is never transmitted to us or any third party for identification purposes.

• Location Data

  Your GPS coordinates are used only on your device to calculate accurate prayer times (Fajr, Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, Isha) and to determine the Qibla direction toward Makkah. Location is processed locally by the Adhan calculation library and is never transmitted to our servers. You may deny location permission at any time in iOS Settings; the app will then offer manual location entry.
• User Preferences

  Your settings — such as chosen theme, font size, reciter preference, notification configuration, and calculation method — are stored locally using iOS UserDefaults and SwiftData. These preferences are never shared with us or any third party.
• Reading Progress & Bookmarks

  Your Quran reading progress, last-read position, bookmarked verses, and reading streak data are tracked locally using SwiftData to help you maintain your reading habit. This data lives entirely on your device and is never uploaded to any server.

To deliver Quran text, translations, and audio recitations, the app makes network requests to the following public Islamic content APIs. These requests are made on your behalf and transmit only the minimum data necessary — no personal identifiers are included.

Each of these services operates under its own privacy policy. We encourage you to review their respective policies if you have concerns about how those services handle connection data (e.g., server logs containing your IP address, which is standard for all web services).

All data generated and used by Qur'an Noor is stored exclusively on your iPhone using the following iOS-native mechanisms:

• SwiftData (local database) — Quran verse data, reading history, bookmarks, and progress tracking.
• UserDefaults — App preferences such as theme, language, notification settings, and reciter choice.
• FileManager (Documents directory) — Cached audio recitation files for offline playback.
• iOS Keychain — Not used; no credentials or secrets are stored.

There are no cloud accounts, no sign-up flows, and no user profiles in this app. You can delete all app data at any time by uninstalling Qur'an Noor from your iPhone.

We do not use any analytics, telemetry, crash reporting, or behavioral tracking tools in Qur'an Noor. The following services are explicitly absent from this app:

• Firebase Analytics or Firebase Crashlytics
• Google Analytics or Google Tag Manager
• Facebook SDK or any Meta tracking
• Amplitude, Mixpanel, or Segment
• Sentry, Bugsnag, or any crash reporter
• Apple's App Analytics SDK (beyond what Apple itself collects for the App Store)
• Any advertising or attribution SDK (Adjust, AppsFlyer, Branch, etc.)

This is an ad-free application by design. We believe a spiritual app should provide a clean, focused experience free from commercial interruption. The app does not participate in any ad targeting, retargeting, or audience profiling programs.

Qur'an Noor is designed to be suitable for users of all ages, including children. The app:

• Does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the applicable age in your jurisdiction).
• Does not include any features that solicit personal information from children.
• Does not display advertising or inappropriate content.
• Contains only Islamic educational and spiritual content appropriate for all ages.

Because the app collects no personal data from anyone, it inherently meets children's privacy requirements under COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act) and equivalent regulations.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the app's features or applicable law. When we do:

• The updated policy will be published at this URL with a revised effective date.
• For significant changes, we may provide in-app notice on the next app launch.
• Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
